Spruce
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Spruce fans be used to exhaust fumes from a stove or range?
- Yes, the new "RL" Series of fans with metal housings is suitable
for exhausting kitchens and ranges. The metal housing is required as the acids
in kitchen grease will attack the plastic housings of the "RV" and "RB"
series of fans.
Can the fans be installed in commercial environments?
- Yes, all Spruce products are rated for commercial as well as residential applications
with the same full five year warranty.
What are the power requirements for these fans?
- All of the Spruce fans run on 110V AC Power. They do not offer any fans with
220V motors at the present time.
Why should I consider buying a duct boost fan?
- To provide additional air handling capabilities for a new addition
- To replace a failed fan without doing a major ceiling job. Use the existing
housing as an intake grille.
- To boost an existing bathroom fan for more effective exhausting.
Why should I consider a fresh air injection / make-up air supply unit?
- Combustion equipment (gas fired water heaters, dryers, furnaces, etc.) requires
fresh air to operate properly! Many of today's homes are built so "tight"
that fresh air can not enter the house. Spruce units are ultra quiet, versatile,
and easy to install.
Can Spruce fans be used for moisture and soil gas removal?
- Spruce inline fans can be used to remove moist air from almost anywhere. Since
Spruce fans can be run continuously and are nearly silent, they are perfect for
ventilating in crawl spaces, beneath sub-floors, in attics, or anywhere damaging
moist air can accumulate. Most applications will require an "RV" series
fan coupled to a humidistat (available from Spruce). Larger areas or those with
extremely high moisture concentrations may require an "RB" series fan.
